Support for laconi.ca sites
i think this shouldn't be too much work because sites like identi.ca have the the same api like twitter. this would be realy great :)

Portable Version
Really like it, but putting the program into the roaming folder is a strange idea. I'd like to put it on my USB-Stick (or my well sorted folder of portable programs). :-)

The main reason it’s in the roaming folder is because everyone has rights to it, so everyone will be able to install it no matter what their rights.
Anyway, it looks like the portable version idea a is popular one, so I’ll have to look into it.

Snarl notifcations
Bringing small popup-notifications for new tweets and so on would be a great enhancement. Snarl is a general system for that (find it at http://www.fullphat.net/)
Made something similar for Witty already and would be happy to provide my knowledge for that topic (see http://tlhan-ghun.de)

I’ve been planning on doing some sort of toast mechanism for a while now. Snarl would be nice to use since it’s pretty and should be easy to put in, or I could just use the tweet controls themselves as toast. What does everyone prefer?
..let me guess: You want an option to choose Snarl or regular tweets? :)

Tweet goes to the account with active timeline
Sorry but alway s manually setting the account for every tweet is not really comfortable for me - Could you make an option so the active tab account is used when firing out tweets ... should be quite intuitive that way :D

Support twitter lists
I'd like to be able to open an official twitter list in a tab like @JadeMason/developers

Option to increase the font size
Font is kind of small for my eyes, I'd like to be able to increase it.
(I know I can do it via the options.xml file but when doing so, the display doesn't look right, text gets cut off)

It looks like Plurk changed their API a little. I’m using a 3rd party library that accesses the API, so I’m not sure how easily I can change. I may need to just write my own now.

Make a linux build
This would be great because it would blow the available twitter apps for linux out of the water.

Enhance search (e.g. local search)
I just discovered http://www.twitterlocal.net/ that makes it possible to filter tweets by geo. regions. That's great. It would be even cooler if I could filter further by keywords (e.g. "hamburg, germany +public schools"), but that's just an idea. Would it be possible to add a local search to Bitter?
I also just discovered I already can do boolean searches in Bitter ("grey OR gray") - that's quite powerful, but the tabs names get a bit too long. How about an option to save searches like bookmarks. Maybe like this
1. Add search ("Bookmark"-Menu)
2. Enter description (=tab name)
3. Enter… more20 votes -

Visually separate accounts
Hmm, I'm not really sure how to do it better, but it's not so easy to follow more than one (twitter) account with the three commonly used tabs (Tweets, Replies, Direct). Maybe one tab for each account that shows the mentioned tabs as subtabs?
Or maybe even better than subtabs: One tab per account and a long list that shows Tweets/Replies/Direct/[Own] in one long list, but can be filtered via buttons at the top of the list (the buttons should show how many tweets are in the list for each "category"). The buttons could be arranged next to the (my)… more

That’s fine. I like the “I wonder how” topics too :)
Anyway, I have have been mulling over the idea of an overview tab for each account that fix the problem you’re having of having too many tabs open. I’m not sure when I’ll get to this, but I’d like to. Come on, people. Vote it up!

After tweeting, no updates..
After tweeting, the tweet you just make doesn't show up right in the list with the other tweets from other users.
I understand this updates when the program does an automatic pull from the servers, but I think this should be done also on every tweet, along with a manual "Refresh" button to push it along when you want it to.13 votes -
Provide a license agreement for users
Providing a license has nothing to do with whether or not the app is open source or not. A license can inform users of what the app should and should not be doing as well as what users are allowed to use the app for.

Get more tweets
Sometimes 15 results (for searches) and a limit of 100 tweets (for my friends time line) are not that much. I'd love a a feature like some web clients offer: fetch more results on scrolling down. Or (and) even better: show tweets within a specific time frame (like last 24 hours). Might kill the RAM right? *lol*

I set the max at 100, because when the more tweets you show the slower the tabs get (especially as you switch between them) and of course the memory it will use. That could definitely be a user configurable option though. The number of results and even number of tweets pulled on each result is just what’s sent from the server. That can probably be paged too.

New reply alert
I'd like an alert for new replies, either a new tray icon or maybe flash the taskbar button.

License unclear
I can't find any place where something about license is written!? If it is open source I would be happy to get access to the sourcecode ;)

Yeah, there’s no license because it’s not open source. It’s just my little pet project. I’ve been considering opening the source, but it would need a lot of prettying up before I did it. :)

Ignore filters
A user customisable list of keywords to ignore. Intended mainly to ignore #hashtags.
e.g. I couldn't care less about #swineflu, and I couldn't care less when people are at various conferences.

Strange bug when logging in with Plurk
Just downloaded and installed Bitter for the first time (v 2.5 on Windows 7), added a single Plurk account, then logged in. The program gives me the following error:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Then the following detail log at the bottom:

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.************** Exception Text **************

I kinda do want to support FriendFeed more (since you can post to FriendFeed, but that’s it). I just haven’t had anyone else push for this. If this gets more votes I’ll really look into it. I’d kinda like to be able to download FriendFeed items too actually.

Retweeting using “(via @username)”
I'd welcome the option to choose whether I want to retweet as “RT @username TEXT” or as “TEXT (via @username)”.
It's about personal preferencies and not so important, but I think it wouldn't take much time to integrate this feature.
